In their T20 World Cup 2024 match against the Netherlands, South Africa overcame a poor start thanks to a brilliant innings of 59 not out by David Miller. South Africa won by four wickets.
In addition to leading SA to their second victory in as many games, Miller put up a vital stand for the fifth wicket with Tristan Stubbs, scoring 59 off 51 balls. After chasing 104, the Proteas ended at 106 for six in 18.5 overs. After being down to 12/4 during the powerplay, South Africa rallied behind a 65-run partnership between Miller and Stubbs, who contributed 33 and 36 runs in the partnership, respectively.
Earlier, pacer Ottneil Baartman gained a four-wicket haul as SA restricted the Netherlands to 103 for 9. Baartman produced a measly spell to record (11/4) while Anrich Nortje (2/19) and Marco Jansen (2/20) provided strong support as the Proteas bowlers dominated the Dutch batters.
South Africa has now won two matches at the T20 World Cup 2024. Their first victory was against Sri Lanka.
