Afghanistan has completed victory in 3 out of 3 matches by beating PNG today at the T20 World Cup 2024. NZ has now been eliminated.

Afghanistan easily defeated Papua New Guinea by seven wickets to advance to the T20 World Cup 2024 Super-8 stage. Fazalhaq Farooqi was outstanding with the ball.
After PNG gave Afghanistan an early scare with the ball, Gulbadin Naib struck an undefeated 49 to lead Afghanistan home as they chased a meager total of 96. Before this, the team captained by Rashid Khan dismissed PNG for a pitiful 95 runs, with Fazalhaq Farooqi scoring 3/16. Naveen-ul-Haq also claimed two wickets and Noor Ahmad scored a late run following some batsman resistance from PNG.
Afghanistan had won the toss and chose to bowl first against Papua New Guinea in their Group C match of the T20 World Cup at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. Their decision proved to be the right one and the Newbie PNG couldn’t hold in front of the Afghanistan bowling attack.
With Afghanistan’s third victory today at the T20 World Cup 2024, New Zealand is now out of the T20 World Cup. They still had to play their 2 matches against Uganda and PNG.
