In the Second match of the super-8 stages of the T20 World Cup 2024, the West Indies had a comfortable chase of 129 after their openers hit boundaries immediately. West Indies reached the target in just 10.5 overs, despite losing the wicket of Johnson Charles for 15.
Nicholas Pooran scored 27 runs, while Hope hammered 82 off 39 balls. Harmeet Singh took the lone wicket for the USA. Earlier in the game, the West Indies bowled out the USA for 128 thanks to three wickets apiece from Roston Chase and Andre Russell.
Andries Ghous top-scored from the USA by playing a 29-run inning. Others failed to even make a start. Ali Khan, the giant fast bowler scored 14 off 6 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six.
The USA has now played two matches at the super-8 stages of the T20 World Cup 2024 and has lost both of them.
