The Hundred 2024 began yesterday as the Oval Invincibles came out victorious thanks to Muhammad Amir’s 2 wickets for 7 runs in his 15-ball spell.

The Hundred 2024 kick started yesterday with a scintillating performance of Pakistan’s pacer Muhammad Amir. In the tournament opener, Oval Invincibles beat Birmingham Phoenix.

In the first match of the Hundred 2024, Birmingham Phoenix batted first. The innings were a struggle as they were bowled out for 89 with 19 balls remaining. Birmingham struggled as a result of tight bowling from the Invincibles.

For the Phoenix, Rishi Patel and Benny Howell were the only batsmen who scored somewhat respectably. They scored 25 and 24 runs respectively as the others failed miserably. And for the Invincibles, Muhammad Amir bowled brilliantly for his 2-7 in 15 balls. Amir started his campaign brilliantly in the Hundred 2024.

Muhammad Amir’s scalps include the skipper Moeen Ali and Dan Mousley.

The reigning champions needed only 69 balls and two wickets to chase down the target easily.

Sam Billings, the captain, spearheaded the effort with a vital 31-run haul. Dawid Malan, who scored 24 runs without losing, followed with 23 runs, while Tawanda Muyeye added 23 runs to the winning chase.
