In the second Twenty20 International match in Pallekele, India defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets (DLS method) to complete the three-match series on Sunday. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 30 off 15 helped the visitors reach home in 6.3 overs, chasing a revised goal of 78 in 8 overs. A rain delay in the second inning led to a change in the game’s circumstances.
Ravi Bishnoi had earlier provided stats of 3 for 26 when India had limited Sri Lanka to 161 for 9. As the hosts lost the plot in the slog overs, Arshdeep Singh (2/24), Hardik Pandya (2/23), and Axar Patel (2/30) all contributed to India’s cause by taking two wickets apiece. After the team was asked to bat first, Kusal Perera led Sri Lanka with 53 off 34, while Pathum Nissanka was equally outstanding with 32 off 24.
