Women’s Asia Cup 2024 final: Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu and Harshita Samarawickrama eased past India, having 50-plus scores in the final.
Sri Lankan Skipper Chamari Athapaththu has scored 61 and Harshita Samarawickrama the top order batter scored 69 in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 final.
Sri Lanka lost an early wicket at 7 runs, but they recovered thanks to a 61-run innings from 49 balls by Chamari. Afterward, Harshit crossed the finish line with eight balls remaining after hitting an undefeated 69 from 51 balls. Kavisha Dilhari also scored 30* off 16 balls in addition to them. India, the seven-time champions, were unable to win an eighth championship.
Earlier, India batted first and scored 165-6 in their 20 overs. Simriti the ever-evolving Mandhana once again stood up and scored 60 runs and the young batter Jamaima Rodriguez scored 29. The wicket-keeper batter scored 30 runs. But Sri Lanka ruined all these knocks to chase the target comfortably in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024.
