Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the Dubai cricket stadium. Rumors suggest he was there to relocate India’s Champions Trophy 2025 matches.
According to reports, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the Dubai Cricket Stadium in the UAE. His visit to the UAE has sparked speculation about a hybrid Champions Trophy 2025 format.
Since its preliminary schedule was revealed, the Champions Trophy 2025 has been a heated topic of discussion within the cricketing community. Especially the participation of India is yet to be confirmed.
While the Pakistan Cricket Board is determined to hold the entire competition at home, India may refuse to travel to Pakistan because the BCCI has not received Indian government approval.
PCB chairman’s visit to Dubai raises rumors about hybrid models. Meanwhile, as India and Pakistan disagree on the Champions Trophy 2025 venue, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s recent visit to Dubai has reignited debate over the hybrid concept.
The PCB chairman also toured the grandstand, dressing rooms, hospitality boxes, and other majestic Dubai International Cricket Stadium areas.
However, Cricket Pakistan says the visit has nothing to do with the Champions Trophy 2025. Naqvi intends to use Dubai Stadium’s infrastructure as a model for renovating the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Notably, the primary building of the Gaddafi Stadium has already been demolished, and renovations are scheduled to begin on Monday. So, Naqvi is preparing to satisfy the supporters’ concerns by transforming the Gaddafi Stadium into a lavish venue.
The ICC has set aside additional funding for the Champions Trophy 2025 prospective move. However, the decision on the alternative venue has yet to be made.
