Younis Khan to Jay Shah: “Show some Sportsman spirit”

Former Pakistan Captain Younis Khan congratulated Jay Shah for his approval as the New ICC Chairman. He urged him to make way for India’s visit to Pakistan.

 

Younis Khan, the former Pakistan Captain, welcomed Shah’s appointment as the New ICC Chairman. He urged him to take measures to improve the cricket game. Jay Shah has recently been elected unopposed as the New ICC Chair. He is also the youngest to Chair ICC and the 5th Indian to take charge.

 

Younis Khan said, “The cricket should uplift with the appointment of Jay Shah as the ICC chief.”

“Jay Shah needs to show the sportsman spirit, as with the good initiatives of the ICC chief, India can come to Pakistan to play cricket. In the same way, Pakistan can visit India,” he said.

 

Younis Khan, who is the World Cup-winning captain of Pakistan also commented on the embarrassing defeat against Bangladesh.

 

“There is always a pressure to play cricket in home conditions. What is the benefit to the players if they cannot absorb the pressure? There is a dire need for the players to boost their morale.”

 

“Everybody has seen that whether the pitch was fast or slow.

 

“We have clinched victories at that time when no international cricket was happening in the country.”

 

On a question about Mohsin Naqvi’s statement of having no talent in domestic, Younis Khan said: “I have no idea why the PCB chairman has talked about having no talent in domestic cricket.”

 

“We have immense talent in our domestic cricket,” Younis Khan said.
