After all the drama and delays involving a rumor that the PCB is shifting the England series to UAE, Multan and Rawalpindi stadiums have been given a yes.
The chairman of PCB Mohsin Naqvi while interacting with the media has confirmed that the Pakistan vs England series will take place in Multan and Rawalpindi. Mohsin denied the rumors of hosting the series in UAE.
Construction work at several cricket grounds in Pakistan has hampered the hosting scenario for England’s three-match series. Karachi, which was supposed to host the second Test, would be unable to do so due to ongoing renovations at the National Stadium. So the PCB decided to host the series in only 2 venues.
A Shanghai Corporation Organization (SCO) meeting in Islamabad on October 15-16 ruled out the possibility of the second Test being played in Rawalpindi. The heads of several member nations are expected to come, and the security and accommodation requirements for hosting the Test in the capital’s twin city are unacceptable.
