KL Rahul, now playing for DC, became the fastest batter to reach 5000 IPL runs, doing it in just 130 innings. The match against his former side, Lucknow Super Giants, turned out to be historic. Delhi Capitals finally played like true contenders. They not only won the match but rewrote the IPL record books.

With this knock, he reached 5000 IPL runs, becoming the fastest ever to do so in terms of innings (130). This record now puts him ahead of legends like Virat Kohli and David Warner. He looked calm, elegant, and in full control throughout his innings.

Porel and Axar Provide Finishing Touches

Rahul was well supported by Abishek Porel, who scored a fluent 51 off 36. After Porel’s dismissal, Axar Patel smashed an unbeaten 34 off 20*, finishing things in style. DC reached the target in just 17.5 overs, winning the game by 8 wickets with 13 balls to spare.

Player of the Match: Mukesh Kumar

With figures of 4/33, Mukesh set up the win. He dismissed both openers and returned at the death to strike again. His pace, accuracy, and calmness under pressure were key.
