Mushfiqur & Shadman Provide Key Support

In the first innings, Mushfiqur Rahim played a marathon knock, scoring 163 off 350 balls, holding one end firm while Shanto attacked. Together, they built a massive total of 495. In the second innings, Shadman Islam supported Shanto with a solid 76 off 126, further frustrating the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Nayeem Hasan & Taijul Islam Shine with the Ball

Bangladeshi spinners had their moments too. Nayeem Hasan took a brilliant 5/121 in Sri Lanka’s first innings, while Taijul Islam claimed 3/23 in the second innings to keep pressure on. Hasan Mahmud also played his part with 3/74 in the first innings.

Sri Lanka Fights Back with Nissanka & Mendis

For Sri Lanka, Pathum Nissanka led the way with a classy 187 off 256 balls, anchoring their first innings total of 485. He was well supported by Kamindu Mendis, who scored 87 off 148. But in the second innings, chasing time, Sri Lanka ended on 72/4, avoiding collapse as stumps were drawn.

This match also marked the final Test appearance of Angelo Mathews, a true stalwart of Sri Lankan cricket.
