Qalandars Talent Hunt Nears Finale After Nationwide Journey

Lahore Qalandars Talent Hunt Journey Across Pakistan Nears Completion

Lahore Qalandars Talent Hunt Journey Across Pakistan Nears Completion

The Lahore Qalandars Talent Hunt 2025, in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, is heading towards its grand finale after an inspiring journey through Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab. This campaign has not only unearthed raw cricketing talent but also inspired thousands of young players across the nation to dream big.

From the deserts of Balochistan to the bustling streets of Karachi and the cricket-loving heart of Punjab, the Qalandars have travelled far and wide, leaving a trail of passion, opportunity, and hope. The program’s mission has been simple — to find the next generation of cricket stars from every corner of Pakistan and give them the platform they deserve.

Balochistan: The Journey’s First Chapter

The talent hunt began in Balochistan, a region often overlooked in mainstream cricket circles. Trials in Quetta and surrounding areas saw an overwhelming turnout, with hundreds of youngsters showcasing raw pace, power hitting, and fearless fielding.

Balochistan’s pitches tested every participant, and selectors witnessed unpolished yet promising talent. Some bowlers clocked impressive speeds, while batsmen demonstrated an ability to adapt to unpredictable bounce — skills that could shine on the international stage.

Sindh: A Cricket Hotbed Bursting with Talent

From Balochistan, the journey continued into Sindh, where cricket excitement soared. Moreover, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur became vibrant hubs as hopefuls streamed in. Particularly in Karachi, trials showcased diverse talent—from street cricketers with lightning reflexes to club players with refined techniques.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad impressed selectors with technically adept batsmen. Interestingly, Sukkur surprised everyone with medium pacers capable of swinging the ball both ways. Furthermore, selectors recognized how structured training helped raw players elevate their performance significantly under professional guidance.

Punjab: The Final Stage of the Talent Hunt

The last chapter of the journey unfolded in Punjab, Pakistan’s cricketing heartland. Lahore Qalandars planned a comprehensive schedule, moving from Bahawalpur to Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, and finally Jhelum.

Punjab Trials Schedule Highlights:

  • Bahawalpur: 25–26 July (Male & Female trials)
  • Multan: 28–29 July
  • Faisalabad: 31 July–1 August
  • Sargodha: 3–4 August
  • Lahore: 6–7 August
  • Sialkot: 9–10 August
  • Rawalpindi/Islamabad: 12–13 August
  • Jhelum: 16–17 August

The Punjab leg witnessed a massive response. In Lahore, young fast bowlers tried to emulate Haris Rauf, while batsmen showed glimpses of power and precision reminiscent of Fakhar Zaman. The trials for both men and women attracted talent ready to step up to higher levels of competition.

The Impact of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program

This talent hunt would not have been possible without the support of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. The program ensured that facilities, selectors, and logistics were in place across all trial venues. The initiative has been widely praised for bridging the gap between grassroots cricket and professional opportunities.

For many participants, this was their first chance to be evaluated by professional scouts. For others, it was an opportunity to reignite stalled careers. In either case, the program created a level playing field for all.

Discovering Future Stars

Throughout the journey, Lahore Qalandars’ scouting team has been on the lookout for skills that could be honed for professional cricket. Raw pace, explosive batting, sharp fielding instincts, and mental toughness have been key evaluation points.

Some standout performers have already been shortlisted for advanced training at the Qalandars High-Performance Center. Past editions of this program have unearthed stars like Haris Rauf, Dilbar Hussain, and others who went on to represent Pakistan internationally.

Building Dreams Beyond Cricket

While cricket is the core focus, the talent hunt has also been about building confidence, discipline, and ambition among the youth. Many players, even if they don’t make the final cut, have spoken about gaining invaluable exposure, learning from experienced coaches, and making new connections in the cricket community.

The Qalandars management has emphasized that every participant is part of a broader journey — one where opportunities can arise at different stages, not just during the trials.

The Road Ahead

As the final trials conclude in Jhelum on August 17, all eyes will turn to the announcement of selected players. These emerging stars will then undergo professional training and possibly earn spots in Lahore Qalandars’ development squads or even their main team for future Pakistan Super League (PSL) seasons.

With the program now nearing completion, cricket fans across Pakistan are eagerly waiting to see which fresh talents will rise from this nationwide search. The dream of turning street cricketers into international stars is alive and well — and Lahore Qalandars are making it happen, one trial at a time.
