A strange record for RCB despite losing IPL 2024 Eliminator.

RCB losing streak

RCB lost to Rajasthan Royal last night in their 15th playoff match overall in the IPL History.

RCB were playing RR last night in the IPL 2024 Eliminator one and lost by 4 wickets. The dream of winning the IPL for Virat Kohli and company perishes once again but they bagged a very strange record last night.

They were playing their 15th playoff match overall in the IPL History and now lost 10 of them. They have only won 5 playoff. This has also been a record, but a record they won’t be proud of.

Sanju Samson had already placed RCB at bat first in IPL 2024 Eliminator. After Powell made an incredible forward-diving catch, running from deep mid-wicket off left-arm quick bowler Boult, FAF du Plessis went early, finishing with 17 runs.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s leg-spinner stopped Virat Kohli, who tried to set the pace with his 33 from 24 balls.

With 741 runs in 15 matches, including a century and five half-centuries, Kohli cemented his place as the season’s top batsman.

The bowlers from Rajasthan managed to contain the score and claimed several wickets, including two in quick succession when off-spinner Ashwin dismissed Glenn Maxwell for a duck and Green for 27.

Trent Boult (1-16) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2-19) were key players in Rajasthan’s well-organized bowling assault.

After Sanju Samson was dismissed for 17 runs in the space of five deliveries and Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught behind off Cameron Green at 45, Rajasthan faltered in their pursuit.

After Riyan Parag (striking 36) and Shimron Hetmyer (striking 26) put up 45 to restart the chase, Rovman Powell (striking a six in his undefeated 16) guided the side home.

Rajasthan, who won the 2008 Indian Premier League (IPL) under the legendary Shane Warne of Australia, recovered from four straight losses in five games, including a washout.

After rising from the bottom of the table after eight games to win six straight and qualify for the playoffs, Bengaluru’s dream run came to an end.

Recall that on Tuesday, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening playoff round, earning them a spot in their fourth IPL final 2024.

Hyderabad will now play Rajasthan in Qualifier 2 on May 24. The winner will then play KKR in the IPL 2024 championship match on May 26.
