Bangladesh to Tour Pakistan for Three T20Is in Lahore

The Bangladesh men’s cricket team has officially agreed to travel to Pakistan for a three-match T20I series. The matches are scheduled to be played at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium on 28 May, 30 May, and 1 June 2025. This confirmation brings clarity after ongoing discussions between the two cricket boards and marks a positive turn for international cricket activity in Pakistan.

Final Decision Made After Dubai Meeting Between PCB and BCB

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and senior Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials finalized the tour during a meeting in Dubai. Multiple cricket sources reported that this high-level meeting played a crucial role in clearing the path for the tour. The discussions resolved previous hesitation and diplomatic hurdles, paving the way for the series to go ahead.

Originally, the schedule was expected to include five T20Is across multiple cities, including Faisalabad. But logistical constraints led to a revised plan, now featuring three T20Is in Lahore only.

PCB Thanks BCB for Continued Cricketing Partnership

Chairman Naqvi expressed appreciation for Bangladesh’s decision to proceed with the tour. He emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cricket ties.The PCB has made extensive efforts in recent years to restore Pakistan as a regular host for international fixtures. And, this tour adds momentum to those initiatives.

T20I Series to Help Build Up for Future ICC Events

For both teams, the series serves as vital preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 qualifiers and other international assignments. The matches will provide opportunities for both seasoned and emerging players to showcase their talent in challenging conditions.

Litton Das to Lead Bangladesh in Absence of Shanto

Bangladesh’s squad will be led by Litton Das, who took over the T20I captaincy following  Shanto’s resignation. A dependable wicketkeeper-batter, Litton will aim to bring stability and intent to the touring side. Pakistan has recently hosted major cricketing nations such as England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.This series against Bangladesh reinforces the country’s capability to host top-level international cricket.

Confirmed Match Dates and Venue

The three T20Is will take place on the following dates at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore:

  • 1st T20I: 28 May 2025
  • 2nd T20I: 30 May 2025
  • 3rd T20I: 1 June 2025
