There is an extra $4.5 Million Budget for the additional expenses of Champions Trophy 2025 which might not be sufficient for the relocation of matches.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a budget of $70 Million for the hosting of Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. There is an extra $4.5 million budget in case of additional expenses.
The decision to give India the Asia Cup in T20 format in 2025 and Bangladesh the Asia Cup in 50-over format in 2027 was overseen by Jay Shah, who also serves as the chair of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
According to the source, India and Pakistan are in the same group for the Asia Cup next year, and there may be a second encounter at the Super Four stage of the competition. If both teams reach the final, there may be a third game.
Now the main thing here is that there were rumors about budget allocation to Pakistan in case India matches shift to some other place. As we can see $4.5 Million budget isn’t enough for India matches relocation. It means India has to play the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan given the budget.
