ICC Champions Trophy 25 will be held in Pakistan from Feb. The Indian team’s participation is yet to be decided but the board announced Rohit to stay as captain.
India has recently won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. They defeated SA in the thrilling final by 6 runs. Immediately after the final, India legends Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from the T20 format. The India Cricket Board on Saturday announced that despite T20’s retirement Rohit Sharma will captain team India in the Pakistan-hosted ICC Champions Trophy 25.

“After this victory, the next stage is the 2025 WTC final and the ICC Champions Trophyn25,” Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, said in a video message.
“I am truly confident that we will win both the tournaments under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.”
Jay Shah was in praise of Virat, Sharma, Jadeja, and the Men’s team coach Rahul Dravid who was also coaching in the last match for India.
“This was our third final in the last year,” Shah said, pointing towards the ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship.
