In the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2024, India convincingly beat England by 68 runs last night to reach the finals of the T20 WC after a 10-year-long wait.
After ten years, India made it to the T20 World Cup final. On Thursday at Providence Stadium in Guyana, the team captained by Rohit Sharma defeated England by a decisive 68 runs.
As a result, the 2007 winners secured a summit match against South Africa, who defeated Afghanistan by nine wickets in the opening semi-final. In Guyana, after being summoned to bat, India amassed a total of 171 for 7 in 20 overs thanks to significant performances by Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.
India was down 40 for 2 in 5.2 overs when Rohit and Suryakumar put together a strong 73-run partnership to save the team. Suryakumar batted 47 off 36, while Rohit fell for 57 off 39. After that, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav each took 3 for 19, severely hurting England’s chase in the second innings.
The final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between South Africa and India on June 29.
