T20 World Cup 2024: Scotland secured a win over Oman by 7 wickets.

SCO VS OMAN

Scotland is now in the second spot on the points table, leaving behind the England cricket team. Their first match at the T20 World Cup 2024 was a washout.

Scotland defeated Oman’s 150-7 total with over seven overs remaining because of Brandon McMullen’s undefeated 61 off just 31 balls. The Scots concluded at 153-3 off 13.1 overs. They have now secured the 2nd spot on the points table in Group B at the T20 World Cup 2024.

George Munsey scored 41 off Mehran Khan before being caught by Shakeel Ahmed, and Michael Jones added 16 as Scotland’s run chase got off to a pleasant start.

After that, McMullen took over and finished with Matthew Cross, who was 15 runs off eight balls after hitting two massive sixes.

Earlier, Oman’s skipper won the toss and decided to bat first. Pratik Athavale opened the innings with a score of 54 off 40 balls, suggesting that Aqib’s choice to bat first had paid off. Naseem Khushi added 10 runs, while Aqib Ilyas added 16.

The Omanis were down 71-4 after 8.5 overs when Zeeshan Maqsood fell for three runs cheaply and Khalid Kail ran out ten runs later.

With 13 more runs from Mehran Khan, Ayaan Khan stabilized the innings with an undefeated 41 off 39 deliveries.

The only other bowler from Scotland to take multiple wickets was Safyaan Sharif, but the seamer’s two wickets cost 40 runs.

Brad Wheal bowled a cost-effective four-over spell of 1-19, while spinner Mark Watt’s four overs yielded 25 runs with 1 wicket to his name.
