T20 World Cup 2024: So near yet so far Pakistan losses against India

Chasing 120, Pakistan was short of 6 runs. India’s brilliant bowling effort brought them back into the match at the T20 World Cup 2024.

Pakistan just needed 30 runs in the last 3 overs with 5 wickets in hand. But Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant 2-over spell brought India back into the match. Iftikhar played a slow knock, and Imad Wasim was unable to time the ball at the same time, doing Pakistan massive damage in their match against India at the T20 World Cup 2024.

The last over was bowled by Arshdeep Singh with 18 runs remaining and Imad Wasim was on strike. Imad Wasim was caught behind by Rishabh Pant on the first ball, which he reviewed but the decision stood still. Pakistan fell short by 6 runs and lost both matches on the last ball of the T20 World Cup 2024.

  • What happened earlier?

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first, which they proved to be right by bowling out India on 119 in the second last over. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah took 3 wickets each and Amir took 2 wickets.

 

Pakistan took a slow start by losing their skipper in the 5th over. But Usman and Rizwan stead the ship somewhat. With Rizwan scoring 31, Pakistan was right on track to win against India for the second time in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. But a brilliant bowling effort by India brought them back into the match.
