Virat Kohli announces Retirement: This is my last T20 game for India

Virat Kohli announces Retirement

The champion player Virat Kohli announces Retirement as India won the T20 World Cup 2024. Virat Kohli was declared the player of the match for his 76 runs.

India’s number one player Virat Kohli announces Retirement from T20 Cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024 final. India won the World Cup, beating South Africa by 6 runs in a thriller.

“This is my last T20 World Cup game playing for India,” said Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli announces Retirement by mentioning it as an open secret. “Yes I have, this was an open secret. Not something that I wasn’t going to announce even if we had lost. Time for the next generation to take the T20 game forward,” Kohli confirmed that he was making the official announcement about retiring when asked.

“It’s been a long wait for us, waiting to win an ICC tournament. You look at someone like Rohit Sharma, he’s played nine T20 World Cups and this is my sixth. He deserves it. It’s been difficult to hold things back and I think it’s going to sink in later. It’s an amazing day and I’m thankful,” Kohli said.

Virat has scored over 4000 runs in the T20i format for Team India. He is the second-highest run-getter in the T20i format after Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.
