Faheem Ashraf Five-Wicket Haul Leads Quetta to Big Victory

Quetta Gladiators produced a stunning all-round display to defeat Peshawar Zalmi. With a powerful batting effort and a fiery bowling attack, Quetta won by 64 runs. Faheem Ashraf five wickets completely dismantled the Zalmi chase in yesterday’s clash.

Quetta Gladiators Post 178 Despite Early Pressure

Quetta Gladiators started confidently after being put in to bat first. Mark Chapman led the charge with a quick 33 runs from 26 deliveries. At the same time, Saud Shakeel also played a fluent knock of 32 off 26 balls. Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis contributed an important 32 from 27 balls.

Although Peshawar Zalmi bowlers kept striking at regular intervals, Quetta stayed positive. Alzarri Joseph bowled with pace and took 3 wickets for 33 runs in his four overs. Saim Ayub also chipped in nicely with 2 for 24. Despite the fall of wickets, Quetta Gladiators managed to post a competitive total of 178 for 7 in 20 overs.

Mohammad Amir, meanwhile, kept things tight and claimed 1 wicket for 18 runs. The relentless bowling left Peshawar Zalmi struggling at every stage.

Chasing 179, Peshawar Zalmi needed a solid platform. However, early wickets meant they were always playing catch-up. Hussain Talat showed some resistance with a patient 39 from 34 balls. Along with him, Mohammad Haris tried to stabilize the innings with 17 off 16 balls. Later, Mitchell Owen’s quick 15 from just 8 balls added some late hope. Despite these efforts, Zalmi’s innings folded for only 114 runs in 15.2 overs.The disciplined bowling and tight fielding from Quetta Gladiators left no escape for Zalmi batters.

Faheem Ashraf’s five wickets earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match award. His fiery spell broke the back of Peshawar’s batting and secured two crucial points for Quetta. With this dominant win, Quetta Gladiators boosted their momentum in PSL 2025. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi will need to regroup quickly before their next fixture.
