Namibia, Canada, and Oman remained victorious in the first round of their preparation matches before the T20 World Cup 2024. Let’s delve into some details.

 

T20 World Cup 2024: Namibia vs. Uganda

Namibia defeated Uganda by a margin of five wickets. Namibia decided to field after winning the toss. Uganda scored 134 for 8 in 20 overs while Namibia chased 135 for the loss of only 5 wickets.

 

Roger Mukasa of Uganda scored 51 from 41 balls, including six fours and one six, after Robinson Obuya of Uganda hit 38 from 27. Nonetheless, Namibia’s Nikolaas Davin turned in a superb performance, hitting a half-century that included five sixes. For the second wicket, Davin and JP Kotze had the highest partnership of 85 runs.

 

Namibia will be facing Australia on the 29th of May in Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad.

 

T20 World Cup 2024: Canada vs. Nepal

In the warm-up match for the T20 World Cup 2024 in Dallas on Monday, Canada defeated Nepal by a score of 63 runs. Nepal chose to bowl at the Grande Prairie Cricket Stadium after winning the toss. Canada scored 183 runs for 7 in 20 overs when batting first. In 19.3 overs, Nepal was all out for 120.

 

Nicholas Kirton of Canada scored 51 runs off of 39 deliveries, including two sixes and four fours. Their team’s win was aided by the 41 runs that Ravinderpal Singh added to the total. The bowlers from Canada also did their best; Dillon Heylinger claimed four wickets, while skipper Saad bin Zafar and Jeremy Gordon both claimed two wickets.

 

Canada will play the Netherlands in the final warm-up match on Friday, 31st of May.

 

 

T20 World Cup 2024: Oman vs. Papua New Guinea

Oman defeated PNG in the second warm-up game by chasing 138 runs with five balls to spare. It took place earlier today at Tarouba’s Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

PNG lost the toss and the batted first. Lega Siaka, 28 off 24, and Alei Nao, 17 off 10, led the side to 137 runs from 20 overs despite having difficulty scoring. Oman, on the other hand, made an impression in batting and balling. Zeeshan Maqsood, an all-rounder, scored 45 runs off of 42 balls. Aqib Ilyas, meanwhile, achieved 3-22.
