Young Blood Shines for Peshawar Zalmi in Crushing Win Over Multan

Young blood shines for Peshawar Zalmi as their rising stars stole the show in a commanding 120-run victory against Multan Sultans. From fearless hitting to fiery pace bowling, the youngsters stood tall and delivered a complete performance at both ends of the game.

Batting first after winning the toss, Zalmi got off to a shaky start with skipper Babar Azam and Saim Ayub falling early. However, Muhammad Haris quickly turned the tide. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter injected instant momentum, smashing 45 off just 21 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours, making his intent crystal clear. Tom Kohler-Cadmore joined the party and launched a six-hitting assault of his own, blasting 52 off 30 balls with 5 massive sixes.

Hussain Talat played a steady hand, anchoring the innings with a composed 37 off 29 as wickets tumbled around him. Mitchell Owen brought the late fireworks, hammering 34 off just 15 balls, including 4 sixes. Abdul Samad followed with an electrifying 40 off 14 balls, striking 3 sixes and 4 boundaries.

Their explosive finish powered Zalmi to a commanding total of 227/7 in 20 overs. David Willey, Michael Bracewell, and Ubaid Shah each took two wickets. But they failed to stem the flow of runs. Chasing 227 was always going to be tough, and Multan Sultans never found rhythm. Apart from Usman Khan’s brief 44 off 22, no batter could settle. The innings fell apart quickly as they were bundled out for just 107 in 15.5 overs.

The bowling hero? Ali Raza, the young pacer who delivered what could be the spell of the tournament so far—4 wickets for just 21 runs in 4 overs, rattling the Sultans with pace and precision. Arif Yaqoob chipped in with 3 wickets. Mitchell Owen capped off a brilliant all-round day with 2 wickets of his own.

With both bat and ball, it was a night owned by youth. Abdul Samad, for his destructive cameo, was named Player of the Match. Truly, the young blood shines for Peshawar Zalmi and lights up their PSL campaign with style.
