Nine Pakistan stars to feature in LPL, Lanka Premier League 2024.

Nine Pakistani cricketers were sold out yesterday in the Lanka Premier League 2024.

The 5th edition of the Lanka Premier League will begin on July 1st. A total of five teams will compete in the league with the final to commence on the 21st of July.

But the notable thing was that before the Auction began, many Pakistani cricketers were already picked by the new teams. The Pakistani Leg breaker Shadab will play for Colombo Strikers this year.

According to the press release by the Board of Srilankan Cricket (SLC), a total of 500 players were added to the auction.

Besides Shadab Khan, defending champions B-Love Kandy selected wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Haris for the five-team competition.

However, at the auction, Dambulla Thunders signed Iftikhar Ahmed and Haider Ali for $50,000 and $25,000, respectively, while Colombo Strikers signed right-arm pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr. for $20,000.

List of Pakistani Cricketers selected in LPL 2024.

B-Love Kandy: Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Hasnain, Azam Khan, Mohammad Ali, Salman Ali Agha.

Colombo Strikers: Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr.

Dambulla Thunders: Iftikhar Ahmed and Haider Ali

There will be three locations for the 2024 LPL: Colombo, Dambulla, and Kandy.

The five clubs that makeup Sri Lanka’s premier league—B-Love Kandy, Dambulla Thunders, Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, and Galle Marvels—will remain in the competition for its fifth edition.

In the league stage, which consists of 20 matches, each of the five competing teams will play each other twice.

The playoffs will be accessed by the top four teams following the league stage.

The Jaffna team, led by Thisara Perera, won the first three seasons of the League of Premier League (they were called the Kings in the second season and the Stallions in the first).

The Wanindu Hasaranga-led B-Love Kandy team won their first title in the LPL’s fourth edition after upsetting Dambulla Aura in the championship match.
