The qualification system is still under discussion. The ICC will finalize it during their Annual Conference in Singapore, starting July 17, 2025. The USA, as host nation, will likely get at least one automatic spot. That leaves five slots per tournament open. The ICC will probably use existing T20I rankings, but it might also add regional qualifiers or a hybrid system. This approach emphasizes rankings and merit. Consequently, it aims to build a competitive field and strengthen cricket’s Olympic credibility.
This return supports a strategic goal. It expands cricket’s reach, especially in North America and other non-traditional markets.
