Big names coming back? PCB started the Pre-season training camp in Karachi

Pre-season training camp in Karachi

Pakistan as last year’s finalists were upset by the USA in the first match of the WC, but now it’s time to move on. The pre-season training camp has started in Karachi.

Total NO. Of Players in the Pre-season Training Camp

A pre-season training camp has started today at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi. There are now 24 players in the training facility, and a 25th is anticipated to arrive shortly. The team’s preparation for the forthcoming red-ball cricket season is the goal of the camp.

2024–25 Test Championship season

In the 2024–25 Test Championship season, Pakistan will play nine Test matches, including home series against England and Bangladesh in August and October, respectively. This is a difficult schedule for Pakistan.

Later in the year, Pakistan will also play a home series against the West Indies and an away series against South Africa.

A combination of senior and junior players attend the Pre-season training camp. Eight players, including Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, and Abdullah Shafique, have already represented Pakistan in Test cricket.

Fifteen players will be chosen from the Karachi Pre-season training camp to attend the Pakistan Shaheens camp, which takes place from July 8–13. After that, the Shaheens team will go to Darwin, Australia, to take part in drills.

Aim of the Pre-season training camp

Ahead of the T20 World Cup earlier this year, the Pakistani team participated in much-discussed military training at Kakul. However, Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign was a complete failure, therefore the training did not produce the expected effects.

Pakistan will be plagued by the T20 World Cup defeats to India and the USA for a very long time. The group’s current goal is to overcome these obstacles.

Pakistan will play Home Test Series against Bangladesh in August.
