The Champions Cup 2024 will commence on the 12th of September in Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad. Babar Azam and Shan Masood will play under Haris.
Misbah-ul-Haq (Wolves), Saqlain Mushtaq (Panthers), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Dolphins), Shoaib Malik (Stallions), and Waqar Younis (Lions) serve as team mentors for the five teams, while the PCB revealed the captains and preliminary squads on Friday.
According to the reports before the Champions Cup 2024 team’s announcement, Babar Azam the white ball skipper was offered the captaincy role but he denied it. Shan Masood the red ball captain will also play in the same team as of Babar Azam. Both of them will represent Stallions under Muhammad Haris, the young wicket-keeper batter.
Nadeem Khan, Director of High-Performance PCB and Tournament Director – Champions Cup, spoke with PCB Digital about the importance of the tournament and its key elements.
“The Champions Cup 2024 was conceptualized in April and inaugurated in July. The PCB decided to bring together the best players from its local championships to bridge the gap between domestic and international cricket.”
