
The PCB has announced 5 big names for the Champions Cup Tournament. The names also include Waqar Younis who is already quitting his advisory role in PCB.
The Pakistan Cricket Board PCB has announced the names of 5 legends to lead the 5 teams in the Champions Cup Tournament. Champions Cup is the new tournament announced by the PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at the start of August in a press Conference.
The Champions Cup will feature every year in all formats. It will include 5 teams each consisting of 30 players and a Legend Cricketer will be leading them. Now the PCB has also announced the names of these 5 Cricketers.
Names of Legends for Champions Cup
Champions Cup legends include:
- Shoaib Malik
- Misbah-Ul-Haq
- Waqar Younis
- Saqlain Mushtaq
- Sarfraz Ahmed
The entry of Shoaib Malik and Sarfraz Ahmed has been a surprise package but this will also help the Cricket as well. It is because both of them are still energized and have been playing cricket actively. Their involvement and understanding of the current players would be very beneficial.
The Champions Cup is an important component of the PCB Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25, beginning with the Champions One-Day Cup. This event will be held at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium from September 12 to 29. The finest cricketers from across the country will compete in a single-league format, marking the return of men’s senior competitive cricket to Faisalabad after nearly two years.
