M Wasim, the Ex-Chief selector of Pakistan opens up on Babar Azam’s nature in his captaincy era. He said it was painful to accept the changes.
Babar Azam has recently been struggling in the series against Bangladesh at home. He has scored 64 runs in the whole series against Bangladesh with 31 being the highest. Overall, in his last 16 test innings, he has accumulated only 330 runs at an average of 20.6 runs per inning.
M Wasim the former chief selector and the batter has opened up about the struggles he had to face during his selection era. He also mentioned Babar Azam’s stubbornness in his captaincy era.
“It was a pain to make him (Babar Azam) accept changes. He was very stubborn and sometimes, I had to overstep my boundaries just to get him on board with certain decisions,” M Wasim said.
Wasim’s coaching qualifications stem mostly from his successful spell with Northern, a team in Pakistan’s domestic hierarchy. Northern achieved two second-place finishes in the rebuilt Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which was introduced by then-Prime Minister.
Shan Masood has now lost 4 consecutive tests, replacing Babar Azam as the test captain.
