Mohsin Naqvi Says All Eyes are on Champions Cup

Mohsin Naqvi

The PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi interacted with the media at Gaddafi Stadium yesterday. He has taken a U-turn about his earlier statement of surgery.

The PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi interacted with the media after the loss vs Bangladesh. The Press Conference was very animated as the media persons weren’t shy of asking some real questions about the PCB Chairman.

Mohsin Naqvi said we are short of data and tools to make a surgery. He also insisted that being late for just one week doesn’t mean it’s a U-turn. He further said we are looking forward to the Champions Cup for the players to get out of it with performance backing them up.

“The problem is that our selection committee does not have a bank from which they can select the players,” Mohsin Naqvi on excluding 4 to 5 players.

“If we used to talk about the surgery, it was because we wanted to rectify our shortcomings.” He added.

“But for that, we do not have enough players and data, on the basis which we can say that we have a list of 10-25 players to replace for example four players,” he further said.

Mohsin Naqvi also commented on the recent announcement of the Champions Cup in Faisalabad. “We will have a crop of talent from the Champions Cup, we would have the record as well then we would be able to do whatever needed. The problem with the surgery is that one should have sufficient tools.

“Once the Champions Cup gets completed and the record gets maintained then we would have a pool of around 150 players. After that, the selection would easily decide who needs to be replaced by whom and who needs the surgery.”

Mohsin Naqvi also talked about the ongoing test series schedule maneuvering as it was scheduled by the last management board Chairman and at that time renovation was not in the plan.
