
The young wicket keeper batter Muhammad Haris will be the captain of young squad selected for the ACC Emerging teams T20 Asia Cup in Oman.
Muhammad Haris has also captained Allied Bank Stallions in the Champions Cup 2024. The team lost in the one of the eliminators but Muhammad Haris as a captained has proved his worth when Pakistan won the Asia Cup last time.
The competition is due to begin in Oman on October 18, with the Shaheens leaving for Muscat on October 16. Before leaving, the squad will attend a preparatory camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi from October 11 to 15.
The competition will feature eight teams separated into two groups, with all matches played at Muscat’s Oman Cricket Academy Ground. Group A consists of Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong A, and Sri Lanka A. Defending champions Pakistan Shaheens are in Group B with India A, Oman, and the UAE.
The Pakistan Shaheens squad consists of Mohammad Haris (captain), Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Haseebullah, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Omair Bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sufiyan Moqim, Yasir Khan, and Zaman Khan.
The team’s management consists of Umar Rasheed as head coach-manager, Imran Farhat as batting coach, Riffatullah Mohmand as fielding coach, Usman Hashmi as analyst, and Syed Mohammad Asad as physiotherapist.
