Sri Lanka’s chase began well, thanks to openers Sandun Weerakkody and Dhananjaya Lakshan, who put on a quick 39-run partnership. Weerakkody’s quickfire 34 off 13 balls laid a good foundation, putting Pakistan under early strain. However, Pakistan struck back in the fourth over, with skipper Faheem Ashraf removing Sri Lanka’s highest scorer, Weerakkody.

Australia batted first and achieved a challenging 107/1, thanks in large part to Dan Christian’s quick 42 from 10 balls and Sam Heazlett’s steady 26 from nine deliveries. Faheem Ashraf’s bowling provided the sole breakthrough, dismissing Australia’s Jack Wood for 36 to end a robust 56-run opening stand.

Pakistan’s pursuit of 108 in the semi-finals began with strong beginnings from openers Asif Ali and Muhammad Akhlaq. Before being dismissed, Asif had scored 32 runs off only eight deliveries, including five sixes. Akhlaq maintained his momentum, scoring 32 from ten balls, including three fours and three sixes. Faheem Ashraf and Aamer Yamin led Pakistan to victory with a crucial 38-run partnership, with Faheem sealing it by striking Dan Christian for four on the penultimate delivery.
