In the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, the Pakistan women’s team made a record by becoming the only team to chase down the target by 10-wicket for the second time. Earlier they secured victory against Ireland 11 years ago. And this victory against the UAE is the second win by 10 wickets.
The Pakistan Women’s team defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Women by 10 wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium yesterday, fulfilling a crucial match requirement.
Thanks to a strong overall effort, Pakistan’s team won its second match in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. India defeated Pakistan in their opening tournament match. With four points from two wins, the Green Shirts are one step closer to the semi-final.
With 35 balls left in the 14.1 overs, the opening combination of Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali from Pakistan effectively pursued the 104-run target in today’s match at the Women’s Asia Cup 2024.
Muneeba played 30 balls to score 37 runs with four boundaries, while Feroza got a half-century with a 55-ball 62, hitting eight fours.
Pakistan was the only side in the history of the current cricket event to win by 10 wickets thanks to their outstanding opening performance. The opening duo made history by becoming the first Pakistani duo to score two centuries together.
Before this, Pakistan had won the toss and chosen to bat first with the UAE women. They were unable to get off to a strong start, though, as they were losing wickets frequently.
The top two scoring for the United Arab Emirates were Khushi Sharma (12 off 26) and Captain Esha Oza (16 off 26).
