An unusual county record bagged by an England International fast bowler Ollie Robinson. He conceded 43 runs in an over playing against Sussex on Wednesday.
Most Runs Conceded in an over
- Robert Vance – 77 runs – Wellington vs Canterbury (1989-90)
- Ollie Robinson – 43 runs – Sussex vs Leicestershire (2024)
- Alex Tudor – 38 runs – Surrey vs Lancashire (1998)
- Shoaib Bashir – 38 runs – Worcestershire vs Surrey (2024)
- Malcolm Nash – 36 runs – 36 runs – Glamorgan vs Nottinghamshire (1968)
- Tilak Raj – 36 runs – Baroda vs Bombay (1984-85)
Against Leicestershire in the English County Championship on Wednesday, England bowler Ollie Robinson set an unpleasant milestone by giving out the second-most runs in an over in First-Class cricket.
Robinson conceded 43 runs in an over, including three fours and five sixes. Louis Kimber hit three of the no-balls he bowled for four runs each. In the history of County Championship, this is the most expensive one.
Let’s see the over-ball by-ball
Ball # 1 – 6
Ball # 2 – 6 (1 run for no-ball)
Ball # 3 – 4
Ball # 4 – 6
Ball # 5 – 4
Ball # 6 – 6 (1 run for no-ball)
Ball # 7 – 4
Ball # 8 – 6 (1 run for no-ball)
Ball # 9 – 1
Without a doubt, Kimber’s feat is the most runs a batter has ever scored in a single over in English first-class cricket.
The record of 38 runs in an over given up by Surrey’s Alex Tudor to Lancashire’s Andrew Flintoff in 1998 was equaled this week by Surrey’s Dan Lawrence off the bowling of his England colleague Shoaib Bashir.
