Chapter Closed: David Warner announces retirement differently

The Australian veteran, David Warner announces retirement from International Cricket on Monday through a post saying: Chapter Closed!

The Australian veteran opener hints at his wish or willingness to play for Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. However, David Warner announces retirement a bit differently from others.

His Instagram post Caption said: “Chapter closed!! It’s been an unbelievable experience to play at the highest level for such a long period. Australia was my team. The majority of my career was at the international level. It’s been an honor to be able to do this. 100+ games in all formats is my highlight. I want to say thanks to everyone out there who has made this possible. My wife and my girls, who sacrificed so much, thank you for all your support. No person will ever know what we’ve been through. For all the cricket fans out there, I truly hope I have entertained you and changed cricket, especially tests, in a way where we scored a bit faster than others. We cannot do what we love without the fans, so thanks. I will continue to play franchise cricket for a while, and I am also open to playing for Aus in the Champions trophy if selected. To the players and staff, thanks for putting up with me. No more what’s app junk, your ears will now be free of my voice. This team has had unbelievable success in the last few years and may continue. Pat Cummins, Andrew Old Mac, and the staff have got this.”

In 2009, the left-hander played his first ODI and T20I matches against South Africa. Barely two years later, at the GABBA in Brisbane, Warner was awarded his Test cap against New Zealand.

Warner competed for Australia in the ODI World Cup, which they won in both 2015 and 2023. 2021 saw him win the T20 World Cup as well. To complete the accomplishment of all the major ICC events, he won the World Test Championship in 2022.

He was charged in 2013 with assaulting England batter Joe Root in a Birmingham bar. He paid a fine and received a three-match suspension for his actions.

After Warner was implicated in a ball-tampering controversy in 2018, he received a one-year ban.

After all that he was a legend of Australian Cricket, David Warner announced retirement, and a streak of legends has call curtain to international cricket after the world cup.
