Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first and they made 230 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The Chase was a bit shaky by India, their skipper scored 58 runs but went useless as India couldn’t cross the 230 mark barrier posed by Sri Lanka.
But why was there no super over if the match ended in a draw?
The Super Over was first introduced after the 2007 Cricket World Cup. In that World Cup, there was a bowl-out competition in a match between India and Pakistan as the match ended in a tie. The same is the case with India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI.

Why was there No super over in India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI
The T20I format is the only one where the ICC super overrule is applicable. There’s no such rule in the ODIs. To be clear, bilateral events do not follow the Super Over rule in One-Day Internationals. In terms of world cricket, not much is at stake in the bilateral competitions. One of the prime examples of super over in ODI cricket was in the 2019 Cricket World Cup final. England won that game as they were high on boundaries.
