On Wednesday, in the India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI, Sri Lanka thrashed India by 110 runs in Colombo, securing a dominating 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Following a dramatic stalemate in the first ODI, the hosts won the second ODI by 32 runs.
Chasing 249, India again started strongly but fell apart against Sri Lankan spinners, with Dunith Wellalage leading the bowling camp for Sri Lanka with a brilliant session. India was knocked out for 138 in 26.1 overs, with skipper Rohit Sharma and Washington Sundar the only batsmen crossing the 30-run mark.
Earlier, all-rounder Riyan Parag took three wickets on debut, but Sri Lanka still scored a challenging 248 for 7 thanks to Avishka. Fernando composed 96, while Kusal Mendis compiled 59. Riyan bowled off-breaks, denying Fernando a well-deserved century. His 102-ball innings included nine fours and two sixes. Fernando scored 89 runs for the first wicket with Pathum Nissanka scoring 45, then another 82 for the second wicket with Mendis.
