A centrally contracted player can only play 2 leagues per year. Usama Mir was denied by PCB for over his already played 2 seasons this calendar year.
Usama Mir is a centrally contracted player for PCB. He has already played the Hundred in August 2023 and the Big Bash League in the season 2023-24.
The reason for his not getting the NOC, as said by the PCB is obvious. His appearance in the two leagues this year. The contract started on July 2023 and will on June 30, 2024. According to this contract, the player who are getting paid by the PCB can only appear in two leagues.
Earlier this year, Muhammad Haris, the young Wicket Keeper batter was also denied by the PCB over his participation in the BPL.
This step was taken into account after the injury of Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah before the World Cup last year. That injury proved to be the major lost for the Pakistan Team last year. Shaheen’s injury also potentially resulted in loss of World Cup Final for Pakistan.
